It’s all in our Mind!

It’s all in our Mind!

#1: Businessmen are all evil so good people should not think of it.

Business, as Life, is made up of good and bad. Everyone will have their share of good and bad experiences but that does not mean everyone is bad.

#2: You need a lot of money to start a business.

There are plenty of people out there who started businesses without a lot of money.

#3: Being in business means you will have a lot of time and money.

The world of business is full of ups and downs and Businessmen can often be penniless in their bank balance while driving a Honda City. It happens. There are cycles of good days and bad days. Also, in the intial years of your startup, cashflows are most likely to be tight. And most businessmen tend to work a lot more than their job-going peers. Atleast the initial couple of years can mean excruciatingly long hours.

#4: Business allows you to earn a lot of money in a very short time.

When starting a business, the focus should be on surviving. If you expect to be successful and mint chunks of money without having survived for the first few years, you will most likely flounder.

#5: Businessman equals to VIP.

Rarely so. Please do not start thinking of yourself as one after you do startup.

#6 Business is only for those who are born in Business-families. It has to be in your blood.

Not true, At least not in this day and age.

#7 Business is easier than a job.

Not at all. It is more so difficult to be in Business especially if you are a first generation entrepreneur.

Myth#8 Being in business means you are not answerable to anyone.

Absolutely false. You are in fact answerable to so many entities when you are in Business. You are not the Boss when you are trying to build a business. In a job, you have one boss. In business, you have many.

Myth#9: A businessman only sits in his office and passes orders to his staff and labor.

In fact, when you have just started, you might not be able to afford staff and labor so you have to be ready and hands-on to do the weightlifting and organizing and every hundredth task involved in keeping your business alive.
